Gamma Knife October 2nd

It looks like I've gotta couple of resilient buggers (not boogers) in my brain. I qualify for a procedure called Stereotactic Radiation Surgery. SRS or Gamma Knife, Cyber Knife. The thing is there are no knives involved. I am getting it sometime soon but I don't have the date yet.

The procedure takes about 3-4 hours (prep time included) it's all done with lasers (201 to be exact) and a hearty dose of anti-anxiety meds. It should be a One and Done thing.

http://gammaknife.org/ This site gives a good description of what's involved.

Feeling great other than a little nervous. My appetite is awesome and...heck...It's Gator Football Season!!

Wow! Nance, I just read through the whole e-mail on the procedure. That IS quite a halo.

You sure are brave and my heart swells with pride....March on!

At the end of the brochure, it said Stockholm Sweden. You and I both know if it's swedish, it has to be good.
Love you, Mom

Hi Nancy:

I love the ray gun photo. I remember having a few ray guns when I was a kid. I always wished that they were real, though. :-) Still do. You could do a lot with a ray gun.

I'm glad you're feeling well. I'm sorry that you have to go through this laser deal (laser = light amplication by the stimulated emission of radiation) and that you're going to lose your hair again. You're going to make it into the Guiness Book of World Records.

I agree with your mother that if it's Swedish, it has to be good. You're living proof of that.
;-)

What a beautiful drum set.

Rick
